Throughout this study tour, I have had the privilege of visiting many different companies for tours, as well as some cultural activities. The event that stood out the most to me so far was the visit to Weingut Wieninger.
This is a winery that was created in 1905. In our pre departure classes for this trip, my group was fortunate enough to do some research for a class presentation on this trip. I enjoyed this visit the most because I was able to relate to it more than other students or people might have been able to because of my previous research. During our tour, the owner, Fritz Wieninger, was showing us the creation process for their wine. This experience really helped me understand what it meant to be the owner of a successful business, but also understand the struggles you have to go through to make a business successful. Fritz gave me a new respect for owners and creators of successful businesses. I was able to ask him a few questions regarding his winery and I was very pleased with his answers and willingness to answer all of the questions asked. This experience also stands out to me because of the wine tasting. Fritz only uses biodynamic wine growing in his business. This eliminates herbicides and pesticides and instead uses biodiversity to create natural diversity. I admire Fritz’s effort to keep his company green and safe and it has inspired me to think that way in the future when I hope to open my own business.
To my peers, did you enjoy the visit to Weingut Wieninger as much as I did? And if so, did Fritz inspire you to see things a different way as he did for me?

This was the area where we did our wine tasting.
