Tomorrow we leave for Prague and we get to look back on two very rainy days in Budapest. Although the rain got in the way during some of our plans, we still made the most of it. We had a group dinner to celebrate a birthday which was a great way to start off in the city. All of the tables were having a great time and enjoying each other’s company.
Reflecting back on the study tour, the communication between our fellow classmates has been noteworthy. With 20 students, one would think that there would be many incidents where there was a miscommunication problem and in our case there hasn’t been. With the help of technology and our multiple group chats we all have been kept in the loop with exception to a couple small events. Many of us have planned our free time together and we make sure to let the other students know in advance. We have spent lots of time together this last week and there is only positive memories to look back on with the help of communication. The planned itinerary is very helpful to look at regarding the days schedule but those who don’t, have the added bonus of the convenient communication methods. We have gotten many reminders of certain requirements for the next day through conversation at the debrief or through the group chat. Overall we believe that the study tour has gone smoothly due to the open communication that everyone uses. Do you think that there has been any big incidents because of the lack of communication?
Hopefully we haven't jinxed it and no one is late for the train tomorrow!

Cassidy and John
Hello Cassidy and John. It was interesting to read your blog about the group’s communication. Looking back on the trip, we believe there was no major communication issues. However, there were some small ones. The first day in Vienna, we lost John. It took a little while to figure out John actual phone number. In the end, we were able to find it and make sure he was all right. We had a group What’s up chat but did not contain everybody’s right number. After this, everybody confirmed their numbers and the group chat was a good reminder of what we were doing each day.
ReplyDeleteThe students created both a Facebook and Snapchat group chat. These were necessary to allow us to communicate with each other about our plans during free time. We need the two groups because not everybody had Facebook or Snapchat. There was a small communication issue as not everybody was added at the start. The creators of the group believe they added everybody but there were a few added late. Once everybody was added, it became an effective and convenient way to communicate with 20 students.
