International business is something that is often overlooked, with few people stopping to think about where their favourite products came from. While this method of trade has become a normality in everyday life, it is important to care about its effects. Many of the goods we purchase, from groceries to electronics to clothing, are imported from other countries. International business makes all these transactions possible, while reducing costs to businesses, optimizing the use of available resources and encouraging businesses to expand and diversify. In our most recent tour of the Zwack Unicum Museum, conducting international business has made the company what it is today.
If it weren’t for international business, many of the products we have all come to love would not be available in our market. As we learned today on our tour of the Zwack Unicum Museum, many of their ingredients originate from other countries all over the world. This is one example of why we should care about international business. If this form of trade did not exist, Unicum would not be what it is today. Unicum is also an example of knowledge being shared between countries. In the short video we watched, Peter Zwack explained that Unicum has been passed between generations, with one generation having emigrated to the United States. When Peter Zwack fled to the US, he took the secret recipe for Unicum with him, in hopes of one day being able to restart production once the communist regime fell. Although the Unicum we know today is not the original recipe, we should all still be thankful that international business favoured the production of Unicum, allowing the company to keep its recipe a secret and continuing to successfully product its beverages. While Unicum may not be for everyone, many of us have been fortunate to enjoy delicious tasting coffee on our trip. What we may not have realized is that many of the beans used in making these coffees originated in countries outside Hungary. International business and trade allows these delicious beans to be transported from one country to another so we can enjoy its delicious taste.
As mentioned above, international business makes all the products we love available for our enjoyment. Whether it be coffee or alcohol, trading on an international level has made it possible for us to access a wide variety of options, allowing us to find our favourite products. Zwack and coffee are just two examples of products we are able to enjoy thanks to international business. I thoroughly enjoyed your description of international business in relation to Unicum and coffee in Hungary. For myself in particular, I feel international business is a huge part of everyone’s life however, they may not realize it.
ReplyDeleteInternational business helps bring products from each corner of the world and make them widely available. Things such as spices, fruit and vegetables are things people use on the daily that may not be available without the use of international business. Countries around the world have imports and exports to keep their economy thriving. Without international business, things such as clothes and technology would look different. I think international business is very important for each individual on the planet because it allows access to many different products and services. Technology has helped the process of international business evolve significantly into what it is today. I think international business has helped shaped our world and has also helped spread cultures, products, and companies all around the world.
Without international business, companies such as Unicum would not be able to ship to other countries and be able to expand as much as they have. International business is a great asset to the world for every business man or woman and every consumer.
